J O I N I N G T H E W R I T E R S' W O R K S H O P

The Core Curriculum Workshop meets 3-4 evenings a month from September to June, and is led by Artistic Director John Sparks, with additional input from the rest of the ANMT staff.

The 2008-09 schedule is listed below. (Each session takes place from 6:45pm to 10:30pm at 5628 Vineland Ave. in North Hollywood):

September 9, 10, 11

October 14, 15, 16

November 11, 12, 13

December 9, 10 ,11

January 6, 7, 8

February 10, 11, 12

March 10, 11, 12

April 7, 8, 9

15-Minute Musical schedule
from April 9 through June 26.

The fee for the Core Curriculum is $895, plus a minimum of one of the three Labs ($495 each). Fees are payable in full in September, or in quarterly installments throughout the season.

HOW TO APPLY

Or, download an application and submit it to us with your resume, and a sample of your work.

Lyricists: include three sets of lyrics.

Composers: include a CD or cassette of three musical selections and the piano/vocal score for the same selections. If no lyrics exist, piano score is sufficient, but no lead sheets please.

Bookwriters: include three writing samples of any kind of writing (each sample should not exceed ten pages).

If you are applying in more than one category, please send the samples applicable to each category.

The application fee will be applied to your first year's dues if you are accepted into the workshop. If you are not accepted, the fee will be refunded.

Applications received by July 1, 2008 will receive priority consideration.

T H E L A B S

BOOK LAB

All Core Curriculum members specializing in the area of bookwriting are required to take the Book Lab.

This requirement can be satisfied either during the Musical Theatre Boot Camp: 6 Tuesday evenings from 7-10pm:
July 8, 15, 22, 29, and August 5, 12

...during the fall/winter session in six Thursday evenings from 6:45-10:30pm:
Sept. 11, Oct. 16, Nov. 13, Dec. 11, Jan. 8, Feb. 12.

For Bookwriters who are also enrolled in the Core Curriculum, the fee for the Book Lab is $495.

LYRIC LAB

All Core Curriculum members specializing in the area of lyrics are required to take the Lyric Lab.

This requirement can be satisfied either during the Musical Theatre Boot Camp: 6 Wednesday evenings from 7-10pm:
July 9, 16, 23, 30, and August 6, 13

...during the fall/winter session in six Thursday evenings from 6:45-10:30pm:
Sept. 11, Oct. 16, Nov. 13, Dec. 11, Jan. 8, Feb. 12.

For Lyricists who are also enrolled in the Core Curriculum, the fee for the Lyric Lab is $495.

MUSIC LAB

All Core Curriculum members specializing in the area of composing are required to take the Music Lab.

This requirement can be satisfied either during the Musical Theatre Boot Camp: 6 Thursday evenings from 7-10pm:
July 10, 17, 24, 31, and August 7, 14

...during the fall/winter session in six Thursday evenings from 6:45-10:30pm:
Sept. 11, Oct. 16, Nov. 13, Dec. 11, Jan. 8, Feb. 12.

For Composers who are also enrolled in the Core Curriculum, the fee for the Music Lab is $495.
